The fact that Dub Boy is possibly the nicest guy you could ever meet definitely belies his status as purveyor of some of the duttiest tunes known to mankind. This is a mix he recorded for Bomb Diggy in Amsterdam ahead of his gig there last mont, featuring all that funky bashment goodness, including some sick white labels and forthcoming Steak House bits.
Ahead of his appearance at our Crazylegs party on Feb 12th here’s Mosca’s set from the recent Elevator Music launch night at Fabric, via the RBMA. Mosca’s been doing a lot recently, a regular on SUB FM and with his Square One EP the very first release on Bok Bok and L-Vis’ newly founded Night Slugs record label, 2010 is set to be a big year for him.
So these disappeared extremely quickly - a one off little colab between us and the man called Daddison to celebrate our 2nd birthday a little while back. Digging through some pictures recently reminded me I never posted these images.. Props to Daddison and Christian for printing duties! hold tight uno-one print.. website on the way! (i’m told..)
Bristol’s Soul Motive have some truly incredible producers on their roster and they’ve just put out this showcase, mixed by Forsaken, “giving a taste of things to come and things gone by”.
New tunes from Headhunter, Geiom, Eleven Tigers, Coleco, Phaelah and Julio Bashmore give a glimpse of what’s forthcoming over the next few months, complimented by some great tunes by El-B, TRG, Sharmaji and Forsaken already available on wax and digital download.
2010 brings new things for our dance. With the sad loss of our much-loved regular venue (Tube RIP) comes an opportunity to step things up a notch or 3, and that’s exactly what we’re doing. We’ve joined forces with our friends from some of Bristol’s most open-minded and forward-thinking club nights – Crazylegs, Pollen, UFO, Focus and Work – to give birth to a monster. A grotesque, nine-headed bass hydra, if you will, under the banner of Crazylegs. In 2010 we’ll be combining our ideas and resources to bring you the most exciting parties in town.
Crazylegs doesn’t have a music policy – we just back quality music that makes you dance. For our first party, we’ve gathered a handful of the sickest breakthrough producers of 2009 to guide you through the most stunning soundscapes in UK music. Expect dubstep, garage, house, techno and everything in between.
Toomuchposse! is a London based collective. Their ethos reflects a love of street-wear combined with a need for hard hitting design. Toomuchposse! is rooted in urban tradition but their inspiration is diverse, from haute couture to jamaican dub. Their style crosses sub cultural boarders bringing you a truly unique product.
I’ve always been a fan of big photo prints on tees and Toomuchposse put out one of my favourites ever a couple of seasons back with their Big Yout tee . Since then TMP have been on hiatus but I’m very happy to say they’re back with a really strong new collection, including 2 excellent half-tone photo tees as well as some more logo-based pieces.
The new year sees us proudly welcome a new brand to Donuts - Norse Projects. Based out of Copenhagen, Norse Projects have only been around a couple of seasons but with each new collection they’ve grown to their current, probably fullest range yet. Drawing inspiration from their native country of Denmark, the brand represents a maturer and much more refined take on ’streetwear’. Spring/Summer 2010 sees some great cut and sew pieces, a small collection of graphic tees and accessories. Instore soon.. Can’t wait!
Skins House is a series of parties spread across the next 3 weekends at the Old Fire Station in Bristol. They’re all free and we’re hosting one alongside Blowpop and Chew The Fat! on Friday 5th Feb. In the Donuts room will be

Following the success of his Cadwell shoe for DC, some more richly deserved exposure for Donuts’ favourite sneaker customising badman Alex Nash. He talks to The Daily Street about sneakers (durrr), not taking things too seriously and upcoming projects, including a collaboration with Second Son which I’m very much looking forward to.

It’s been a while but I’m glad to say we have Second Son available again at Donuts. Some really nice pieces, including pocket tees, crews and the Ol’ Dirty Birdsong tee which is the best thing I’ve seen in ages.
We have the first few designs up online, the rest will be up tomoro.
The new Donuts is already open for business but this Friday, before we hit Tube for Roska & co., we’re having a little shopwarming party to celebrate our new home, with mulled wine, mince pies and late night opening for all your Christmas shopping needs. We’re really proud of the new place so please come check us out.
So we have been fairly quiet of late and for good reason. A big change is upon us here at Donuts.. Due to circumstances that were entirely above and beyond our control (blame mother nature!) we have moved our store from its previous location (1-2 Perry Road) to a brand new spot. We are now at 8 Perry Road (just 6 doors down from the last place) and I’m really happy to say that we have settled in well. As I’m sure our long term followers know, this is now our third store in as many years but it really feels like we’ve found the right one!
With Christmas rapidly approaching we’ve extended our opening hours to now include Sundays 11am - 4pm and continue to trade the rest of the week as usual, 11am - 7pm. Also as it’s our first weekend of trading in the new store we are offering 10% off EVERYTHING for this weekend only. We open with brand new stock from Alife, Flying Coffin, Rockwell and Rockers NYC and a slew of new deadstock caps so come down and say hello!
I’d also like to take this opportunity to apologise for any slight delays people may have experienced in our mail order service. We’ve tried our best to get everything out on time but naturally there have been small delays what with our change of location. Service will now continue as normal!
Pictures of the new store will follow but for the time being follow this link to google maps for our exact location!
If you’re in London this Sunday and you’re into vintage sportswear/sneakers/designer gear you should check this out. A sale/exhibition at The Albert & Pearl pub in Islington, hosted by Zone 7 Style and the guys behind The Other Side Of The Pillow. The flyer says “Paramedics will be on site all day to deal to with anyone suffering from shock….” and I don’t even think they’re kidding.
